Description

The chant of "1 - 2 - 3 - RISE UP!" happens at the end of every Rise workout, after we pick our designated "rock". The Rise leader doing the announcements typically chooses the rock based on a number of criteria: who worked especially hard during this workout? Who was new this morning? Who is conveniently squatting in the front row, already assuming the rock position? By carefully weighing these questions the leader chooses the rock (or the rocks, if we pick more than one person!)

When our rock is selected, we put our hands in over this person's head and somebody says a few words to motivate us through the rest of the morning and beyond. We acknowledge the hard work we put in, and that the hardest part of our day is already over. We remember the high fives, the Burpees, and the moments we wanted to give up but didn't. We celebrate the fact that we're even here! The excuses to catch up on sleep were strong, but we were even stronger!

Finally, we conclude: "1 - 2 - 3 - RISE UP!"
