Rise RECAP: Apr. 2 – Apr. 6


April is finally here! However Old Man winter just didn’t want to let go. We still managed to get out, put in a solid work-out, and start our days off right! Here’s a recap of what happened last week:


Monday – HIIT

We started our week with a surprise snowstorm! When we got to Washington Square Park there was already an inch of snow on the ground, but Monday Risers did not let that stop us from getting our squats in. We kicked off the first day of the April Squat Challenge with an extra squat-tastic workout!


Tuesday – BK Body Circuit

In Brooklyn it was our Day of Randoming and we did Shannon Salem’s workout! In addition to a core kicking circuit, we sumo squatted and frog jumped across the plaza.


Tuesday – Queens Warriors

Another Queens Warrior Birthday celebrated in true Rise fashion! Yeah Buddy!!

The Queens Warriors broke out the birthday hats and were all smiles for Tuesday’s workout. As we say here at the Rise: Anyone can do this, everyone is welcome, we will have fun!


Wednesday – Core Body Boot Camp

Wednesday we crushed a deck of cards and completed a ball bag challenge with a twist. In honor of Easter, the Easter Bunny hid our balls around Bryant Park.

Our boot campers were up to the task, found all of the balls, and performed the exercises on the balls with lots of smiles.  We finished with 100 squats and a 2 min plank.


Thursday – King of Queens

Plenty of squats, lunges, and bench push-ups for our Thursday crew!

Rise up Queens!


Friday – Hills

Happy Sprints Day! We welcomed in the first Friday of April with our standard sprints workout. That’s ten 45 second sprints with 1:45 rest between each.

How far can YOU sprint up the hill in 45 seconds? Hill sprints are a great way to built speed and endurance. Join us for them every first Friday!
