Last week we kicked off our pushup challenge! This recap could be summarized by saying “We did a lot of pushups”, but of course other things happened (including a birthday pie-ing!). Here’s what we did:
Monday – HIIT
Risers old and new converged on Washington Square Park to cover it with sweat and smiles. Ken made his triumphant return and crushed the workout (he’s been eagerly waiting for the photos all week!)
Tuesday – BK Body Circuit
The first Tuesday of the month at Grand Army Plaza means DAY OF RANDOMING! This is when we do a workout created by one of our Badass regulars. This week, Jen “Shine Bright Like A” Diamond took the reins and led us on bodacious body circuit. While on this circuit adventure, we did an awesome (and tough) 8 minutes of up/downs, which just might become a new Brooklyn staple circuit!
We always love seeing new faces too. This week, Alfonso came out to try us again and brought two friends – Daniel and Hadas!

Tuesday – Queens Warriors
Queens Warriors greeted the sun on Tuesday with a partner warmup, some karate and isometrics, and a challenge to finish the workout! Spring isn’t far from MacDonald Park – come join us in FoHi!
Wednesday – Core Body Boot Camp
Yet another Nor’easter here in New York City, but the #CoreBodyBootCamp team would not be phased! We battled the sleet and freezing rain like warriors and made it through our deck of cards with gobs of awkward starfish. We earned a few rounds of our favorite exercises and finished camp with cold hands, lots of lunges, and smiles on our faces! Great job campers, way to show up and put in work in the face of the storm!
Thursday – Kings of Queens
The sun finally made an appearance at the start of the Thursday morning workout!! MacDonald Park was still a little frozen so we moved the party over to the Post Office. It took some time to defrost from all the snow we’ve seen in the past few days, but we had an awesome workout in the end.

Friday – Hills
On Friday we tackled obstacles – mixing up runs up and down the bridge with bodyweight exercises. Obstacles + running = strength + speed. What better way to close out the week??
