Another week of pushups, Burpees, and all the other exercises we love! And of course, another nor’easter. We seem to get one every week! Luckily, we’ll work out in anything. Our answer to most weather-related questions is yes.
Yes – we meet even when it rains and snows. And yes – we brave the elements even if your momma says we’ll catch a cold in this weather. We appreciate her concern, but someone’s gotta do all those pushups.
Anyway…let’s get to the recap!
Monday – HIIT
We kicked off the week in Washington Square Park as usual. Payden and Chandra brought their A-game. Steve brought the smiles. And most importantly, Christie brought the timer!
Tuesday – BK Body Circuit
Well well well. There were just TWO of us Tuesday morning. Vince and I played in the snow. It was pretty awesome.
I think we high fived each other about 7,243 times. You too can get your fill of high fives every Tuesday morning – but you gotta show up!
Tuesday – Queens Warriors
It was a cold and snowy morning, but that didn’t stop us from doing squats, lunges, flutterkicks, dips and all the exercises we planned to do. Snow, rain or shine, it is always fun. Join us every Tuesday morning. 6:30AM. Macdonald Park. It’s free! It’s fun!
Wednesday – Core Body Boot Camp
At this week’s boot camp we tackled our monthly Surp.Rise – a special workout that incorporates a…you guessed it…surprise element not usually seen at our Bryant Park sweatfest. For this month’s Surp.Rise, we fit multiple Rise workouts into one day: a Monday HIIT segment full of Burpees, a deck of cards for Wednesday, and obstacles with plenty of running and lunges for Friday. We ended the workout with 2 min in squat position and earned some well deserved high fives!
Thursday – Kings of Queens
Not a big crowd in Queens, but definitely a strong one! Great start to our Thursday morning with some burpees and side planks to warm us up, and an even better way to end it with an ab-rocking pyramid of dips and rowboats!
We did our rowboats on the benches. It looks funnier than it feels!
Friday – Hills
On the third Friday of the month – anything goes! The cardmaster draws a card, and the suit determine the fate of the runner. Spades? Run up and down the Willy B incline? Hearts? That’s 40 squats at the base. No matter what card you receive, you’re guaranteed to get one heck of a workout!
