Our February Running Challenge starts TOMORROW!


February is the shortest month of the year – making it the best time to commit to a month-long challenge. Well, The Rise has you covered!


Run 10 Minutes a Day, Every Day

That’s all there is to it. From February 1st through the 28th, The Rise is asking you to commit 10 minutes a day to putting one foot in front of the other in a hurried manner. Some people commit to a similar run streak from Thanksgiving through New Year’s Day. But February has Valentine’s Day, so it’s only appropriate that we show it some love!

Can I run longer?

Sure you can! But the key to this challenge is consistency. Don’t run 20 miles on February 1st if it means you’ll run 0.0 miles on February 2nd. Stay with it!

How do I keep track of my running time?

Most phones have a built-in timer/stopwatch component. If you have a GPS watch you can use that!

I’m not fast. I can’t run a mile in 10 minutes!

Running a mile in 10 minutes is not the challenge! Whether you’re running a 5 minute mile or a 13 minute mile, all that matters is that you’re running for at least 10 minutes.

Can I take walk breaks?

Of course! You can pause your timer while you’re walking and resume it while you’re running. For example – you can run for a minute, take a 30 second break, and then do that nine more times to get your 10 minutes in.

Does the Friday Hills workout count?

Hell yeah! We strongly recommend you take advantage of our good friend the Williamsburg Bridge every Friday morning. You’ll get your 10 minutes in, along with #AllTheHighFives!

This week we have sprints on the menu. It’s going to be nuts…in a good way.

No really, commit to it right now. Your legs, lungs, and mind will thank you.
