Governors Island Running, Boot Camp, and Yoga with OutdoorFest

Live in the city but have a hard time spending time with nature? I know I do. I grew up near Boulder, Colorado where it’s hard not to spend significant time outdoors. But here in NYC it’s not quite so easy to just step outside and enjoy wide open green space. Or is it?

Enter OutdoorFest, a ten day festival in NYC with an aim to connect urban dwellers (that’s us!) with the abundance of outdoor resources (that’s what we want!). Yes, I said abundance. It turns out there are a lot of great outdoor activities in the city. Think hiking, trail running, camping, fishing, canoeing, kayaking, sailing, surfing, rock climbing, etc. Seriously. You can find it all in NYC!


Of course that’s not all you can do outdoors in NYC. The Rise has been rockin’ early morning workouts for nearly three years outside on the NYC streets. I can’t even tell you the last time I did a pushup or a situp on a surface that wasn’t concrete. And that’s why I’m excited for our Saturday of fun on Governors Island with OutdoorFest! We’ll be running around and enjoying some workouts on green grass. I’m not sure there’s a better way to kick off summer.

So join The Rise and Pop Up Yoga NYC this Saturday as we get our FREE FITNESS on at Colonels Row on Governors Island with OutdoorFest.  Running. Boot Camp. Yoga. Come and go as you please.
