Get your butt kicked

Want to find out what it’s like to get your butt kicked for 20 seconds at a time over and over again? If you answered yes (if you didn’t, what are you reading this for?) then come check out what high intensity interval training is all about. We meet every Monday at the East River Park Track (6th Street at the East River) at 6:30 AM. JUST SHOW UP. It’s that easy.

The workout

Every Monday is a Tabata workout to improve your aerobic and anaerobic systems at the same time. Learn what it’s like to hit the point of exhaustion and then try to keep going. This is great for everybody: beginners and pro athletes alike. Nobody said this would be easy.

The format is simple. 20 seconds of work. 10 seconds of rest. Do that for eight sets of a single exercise and you have yourself a workout. Between wind sprints, push ups, sit ups, dips, box jumps and burpees you will be exhausted by the end of the workout. Tabata is no friend of the weak. This is all about intestinal fortitude.
